I’ve put out preemergent as well as some Certainty to try to kill some Kyllinga a few weeks ago. Put out some of this fertilizer a week ago, a few days before that cool snap last weekend. My St Aug just appears dormant. The only thing that has grown are where I put some fertilizer spikes around some crepe myrtles over a month ago. 12-inch circles of taller, greener grass around 3 of my crepes. What could be going on?

It isn’t going to grow until night time temps stay in the 60’s consistently. You put down fertilizer too early.

A good 25% of mine is still dormant but it’s weird that I’m the only one in the neighborhood. Everyone else is 100% green.

I'm on the North Shore to clarify. Was it too early for my location? What should i do now?

I’ve got the same problem. Many other yards in the hood seem to be full on growing now and I’m 50% still dormant. I have not fertilized, just pre emergent so far. Maybe I killed grass and it’s not dormant but dead.

Second week in April is usually the optimum time to fertilize. Grass normally is growing by now. But like others stated, these cool nights we have, have slowed the grass up a bit.
I have patches of my yard greening up but most is still half dead looking.
