Anyone have any reports on how the island is handling this weather system? I've started fishing there a lot recently and this is the first tropical weather event since so I was just curious. Thanks!

Will do. We about to drop an anchor and ride this shite out. Pencil pushers had us wait too late to get under tow to safer waters so we got stuck in this mess. Its a big barge so Im not worried. I have been in much worse than this.

Our weather report says weather is crap until Sunday.

LA 1 from Fourchon to Grand Isle is flooded and impassable. Not unusual at all but thought I would share.

Hopefully the worst is over at GI as the storm moves west. The max gusts are less than 30 knots now. Unless more wind bands move through.

We have gusts of 50 knots right now. We were in a bind for a minute with a platform getting close. Tug cant pull us in this. A water spout hit us earlier. We safe now. Couldnt drop an anchor with pipelines underneath us unless it was emergency but we drifting slow in a good direction. No platforms within a few miles at least. We got fricked on this one though. The weather report has gusts up to 40 until tomorrow afternoon.

If we can stay in this spot for 6 or 7 hours we good. Once daylight hits we can at least see platforms. We will make it. It could be worse.

12ft seas in 40ft of water. How you like that? We finally got an anchor down to ride this shite out. We were trying to get to shallow water but, its 12ft seas in 25ft of water also. We got to 30ft and the tug couldnt turn us around so we had to rift backwards until we reached a clear spot. The barge would have been sitting on bottom and we wouldnt have been able to get the barge to a location to set an anchor out with all the pipelines in shallow water. I was worried about that platform earlier. Im glad we were able to miss it. Now we all good out here. Just riding it out.

Yea man we got an anchor out riding it smooth. Barge is Pacific Horizon. Normally Im on some deep water vessels but work is slow in that dept, so barge work came up doing platform demolition. We supposed to be busy with this until the winter.

10-4. I'm a pencil pusher for another derrick barge company. Sounds like yall had a little wilder ride than our guys but it's good to hear y'all made it through.
