Grand Isle Thursday/Sunday
I know the water was a lil dingy on gulf side yesterday. Any chance we get some clear water with this lighter wind?

They have been crushing them on Elmer's the last few days. And the wind is supposed to be laying down today and tomorrow. Should be a perfect weekend.

That’s what I’m hoping for...should be there by 4pm

Curious, has anyone used the shuttle? Should I be prepared to hoof it?

There is a Facebook page called Grand Isle Fishing Group or something like that. They talk about the shuttle. And show pics of their catches and give lots of good real time reports.

Not on FB. 4 years running.

What are you baws taking to grand isle/elmers is you are gonna be surf fishing for trout? I got a good assortment of mirrorlure mr-17s and the usual line up of soft plastics but are there any other good baits to have in the tackle box?

I'm jealous. Looks like they're smashing them on Elmer's right now. Off to work.

They'll be on tomorrow too. I know this because I'll be paying dues.

Where's the new Kayak launch exactly? And do you fish the Washout?

I haven't been since they added launches. I used to launch by the gate and pedal across the back bay to where it meets caminada pass

Couple of things i'd never surf fish GI without....

-SheDog or whatever your fav topwater is. "Bone" color is my go-to.
-A handfull of 1/4 jig heads and a few diff colors of Matrix. Summer time in GI is usually best fished with Shrimp Creole, Green Hornet, Ultraviolet and Lemon Head. You can cover just about all the colors in the spectrum with those in hand. (at least the most productive colors)
-A popping cork with a 3" white gulp (last resort if the fishing is REALLY tough)

They've been catching at the State Park Rocks. Its and easy wade and sunrise/sunset fishing with topwaters around the rocks can be stellar.
