Youngest wants a pistol for graduation and i am leaning towards the M&P40 M2.0. All of his current pistols are wheels guns and he wants a semi. Our family owns no glocks but i am not opposed to them.
Any suggestions or reviews on gun above?

Any particular reason you are leaning .40 over 9mm?

I have the Shield in 40 and oldest has M&P 45, don't want to have to add 9 to the mix. Our wheel guns are 357 & 44 with 3 being 357. Would rather have bulk rounds in one caliber.

Budget is $500 not $800 but that is a nice piece.

My P2000 was the latter, I think striker offerings are closer to your budget. I’ve seen postings on here, maybe not the sk...and the 40s are usually cheaper...but $500 is doable for a VP.

$565 for the one posted.

$500 from a Florida gun store.

Interstate guns in Hammond has the vp9 and vp9sk on sale for $499 for the non LE versions. LE version is $599. LE version gives 1 more mag and night sights. I would go this route personally.

I would also lean towards a 9mm. Cheaper to put rounds through. I have a MP 2.0 in 40 and I don’t shoot it that much. I much rather shoot my 9mm’s.

Sportsman’s outdoor superstore has the full size MP 2.0 for $349. I’ve bought two guns from there and they have been great.

If you want to spend another hundred fifty or so from your budget, I cant say enough about my Sig XCarry. I love this gun. Prefer shooting it over my P226 and M11-A1. However the MP is $300 less.

MP 2.0
