My airbag went off but I wasnt even going fast enough to hit it. Really sucks cause now I need a new steering wheel. And also, for some reason unknown to me, Nissan has something that retracts and locks the seatbelt when your airbag goes off. My driver's side seatbelt still fits b/c it locked in the position I was in when I hit but my passanger one is locked and retracted in the not in use position.

Any ideas on how to unlock this? Someone mentioned that Nissan will actually have to go in and replace the part which is a dam money racket if I've even heard of one

This is all the damage I have on my truck, air bag shouldnt have deployed IMO, but I guess its better that it did than didnt

It is, but it's also for safety reasons. The stress of an accident could weaken the belt itself or where it's secured to the body of the vehicle. Replacing it eliminates the possibility of the belt failing in another accident.

My thought to, but it's getting tough to get real answers there.

This sounds exactly like one of the projects we had in our Mech Engr Senior Project class. I wonder if that student went on to market it?

Try changing the headlight on it too. My wife has an altima, and it costs 40$ a light.
Sorry bout the accident.

Someone told me that if I disconnect the battery for a while, it may reset the belts... :fingerscrossed:

This may work... but the length of time it is disconnected shouldnt matter. Just a thought

Additionally, there wasnt much damage to any of the vehicles involved but the Titan went beast mode in the wreck! I stopped almost instantly but sent the Civic sliding foward a good ways (until she hit another car ) but besides that, Titan did work
