A fence destroying, chicken leg eating machine. He could give you fits, before he got too old.

But, he was my dog. For 15 years. And it was tough yesterday patting his head and scratching those ears, for the last time.

I will miss him.

Geez man I'm sorry. We took our dachsund to the vet saturday bc she was having trouble moving her back legs. She has a ruptured disc. We have a big decision coming wednesday.

Happened to me in 2013 with my dachshund. She was only 5.5 years old. It was horrible to watch her drag her legs so my parents and I made the decision to put her down.

I'm sorry to hear that. At least I didn't have to make that decision.

My wife got him for her birthday, but in the end, he became as much mine as hers. I was on the lake when she found him. He laid down in the sun behind the shed, and never woke up.

Realistically, it was time. I knew it. His vision was failing, as was his hearing. But, he wasn't suffering.

Absolute last thing I did before I left to go fishing was wash his face so the "sleepy" would not build up in his eyes and hinder the eyesight that he had left. Then I patted his head, and told him goodbye.

Is that a min pin? I have one of those, and told my wife it's not going to be a good day when I have to put her down.

Yeah. He was a little big for a standard min pin. I began to wonder if he had some German Pincher in him.

But yeah, min pins will steal your sandwich, your pillow, and your heart.

Been there done that, recently. It's been nearly three weeks, and it's been pretty rough. I'm just now starting to feel a little better and remember the good things instead of the pain. I'll never forget her. Sympathy on the loss of your buddy. He looks like a great dog.

Good lookong pup. Sorry to hear about your loss. 15 years old is probably to old to eat and not much meat on those bones.
