Good to see that he lived a long life. Mine are 3 and I hate that they generally don't live too long after 10.

Mine will find my gf no matter where she is hiding in the house. Would make a damn good rescue dog.

Also, the other day I put them in my backyard before leaving for class and the gate did not close all the way behind me. I was in class for 2 and a half hours and when I came home both were standing right behind the wide open gate waiting for me to get home.

Tremendous companions, lots of hair, they seem to stay a puppy for about 5 years and then instantly turn into old men/women.

This has got to be the worst thing you could ever do. Either cage it, or leave it loose in the bed.

My dad's a veterinarian and has seen multiple dogs that have been drug behind cars because of this. Even though it was a long time ago and I'm sure you've changed, please don't do this crap.

Anyway, as for goldens, I've heard they're pretty much like labs with longer hair. Every one I've ever seen in person has always been really nice and very loyal to its owners.

Okay to chain them if you hook to both sides of the front of the bed where it cant reach either side, but if not, def better left off a chain.

Ive had my Golden for nearly 4 years and he is still fricking hyper.
He is a great dog and honestly I think he could be show quality.

We have a smaller dog so the wife wanted a gentle breed and Goldens are about as gentle as they come.
He did do some damage to house as he grew up like chewing blinds and the couch, but he grew out of it rather quick.

As for size, ours is about 75 lbs and he really manages his own weight. Keep them lean and they will have less health problems. They certainly shed like crazy though, but great dogs overall.

Not able to post pics (technological challenged). Service dog at Disney had better cut than I get. Tail was symmetrically round--coon tail without stripes) and body hair approx. 1 inch all over. Beautiful dog. As for weight, she hovers around 90 lbs.

One thing mine would do that made me think the same, or actually made me think he'd make a good cadavar dog.

I would take him to a local small river, which has a rocky bottom. I would take a rock and mark it, throw the rock in the river, and he would come back with THAT rock...every single time.

Also, I could kneel down in the yard, he would be facing me...head in my lap. I could take a stick and throw it in a pile of sticks. Remember, he's facing me, so he doesn't even see where I'm throwing it. Now, it would take him about a minute to a minute and a half sometimes, but he would come back with THAT stick...every single time.

Amazing nose that dog had.

Most goldens have great noses. Be careful when you correct his behavior. Goldens seem to be a little shy and a harsh correction might scar em. There not like blockhead labs.
