Saw somebody had posted the YouTube of He stopped loving her today Listened to it, didn't realize that he was dead though. Unbelievable voice!

Saw that earlier. Been listening to him since. I saw him 2 years ago, and although it wasn't 1975 Possum, it was still better than anyone on the radio now. Once in a 100 yrs voice.

Got to watch his last show in Illinois a few weeks ago. Sure glad we made that one. He was strained to sing at that show, but still well worth going.

Remember listening to him on 8 track - my dad was a huge fan! My 16 yo son also got a hankering for some of the Country Gold a few years back and he listened to him as well. Many Classics!

i heard him a couple years ago and his voice wasnt as strong but had that same unique sound.. rip possum

Yep George was one of my father and his padnahs favourites. Cant hear GJ or Tammy Wynette and not think of them. I remember playing cards listening to GJ 25 yrs ago at the camp – I didn’t appreciate it then but do now. RIP and ohh for faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, and more money
