Tried to almost triple my rates, blamed it on nation wide premium increases. Told them to frick off.

My rates jumped significantly when my BoatsUS got bought out by Geico. Their customer service is terrible as well. Will be dropping them this year.

Mine is a $10/month rider on my homeowners with Liberty Mutual and it is stored at the camp.

We had GEICO back in the 90s...I had back to back at fault wrecks...they sent my parents a letter stating that if I didn't drive MY truck, they could continue to insure our vehicles. My parents would have to sign the document and send it back to them. Mom was a USN LT at the time and eligible for USAA...she called about a quote on 3 vehicles, travel trailer, and the house/5 acres of land with flood insurance. It was like $500/year cheaper to go with USAA AND they would cover me with no issues. When Mom and Dad got that first dividend check from USAA and it was like $500 they about died. I've been with USAA since. Their home insurance is starting to creep up...and I'm watching them...but other than the Tampa Bay customer service office....I have no complaints.

Just checked. My rates more than doubled from BoatUS in 2016 to Geico in 2017. That’s with 14 years of 0 claims. Will not continue with Geico Marine for 2018.
