Anyone have any recommendations? I'm going there next week and will be staying in Aurora. We can drive within a two hour range from there. My wife is buying me a guided trip for my 40th! I've never fly fished before and want to try and catch a trophy brown or rainbow trout. We will be doing a full day trip thanks!

Vail Valley Anglers in Edwards near Beaver creek/Vail. They will put you on the fish. About 2 1/2 hour drive (130 miles) down I-70. This time of year, you will probably fish pretty close to their shop.

No input on guides since I've never been on a guided tour but I know how to fly fish. I'd recommend watching plenty of videos on casting and mending, maybe the basic knots too so your guide won't be tying on for you all day. Even if you don't get a chance to practice before, it'll be an advantage to go in able to understand the guide's instructions better.

Thanks, that was actually my first choice before I posted. It looks like a first class operation. Thanks for the feedback.

This is good to here as I’m headed to edwards for a week in July. We have a house rented right on the eagle river. Does one need waders in the summer?

Man, it’s too damn cold this time of year to fly. Fish in Colorado. I love fly fishing, but I goin July or august when the streams have cleared up and the insects are hatching. If you want to go to the mountains this time of year,

I went this past October with Trout’s Fly Fishing and has a great time. They have shops in Denver and Frisco. We fished the Eagle River in Gypsum, right off I-70. Would recommend them.

Guide was very knowledgeable about the area and the flys. He did everything and was very patient with me and my shitty casting lol.
