Buying a few flashlights. One to keep with my gun. One to mount to my pump shotgun (not railed). And a couple to keep in our cars.

Any recommendation?

I’ve always been a fan of stream light.

Olight made some really good weapon lights that are cheaper.

They likely won’t be as durable as streamlight or sure fires but I’m not breaching any doors anytime soon.

Harbor foreigner has a great one for 9 dollars.

Expensive flashlights and blades bother me. This one does fine.

Haha yeah that’s the dilemma. The balance between tactical $200 ones, Home Depot $60, and $10 Amazon packs of four.

Don't go cheap if you're mounting to a gun. LEDs may last for 50,000 hours but the circuit boards they're on will not, nor will cheap switches, and you don't want it turning on and off when you shoot. No need to go Surefire (who got passed a long time ago IMO) but I would stick with Streamlight or Olight; something made for weapon use.

ETA for just holding in your hand get whatever, although I don't like the super cheap ones. The most versatile light I have is a Sunwayman V10r, although I think the new one is a V11r.

My kids are into the Fenix flashlights. I swear those things reproduce like rabbits in my house. I will say every time I need one I do think they are great lights

Fenix. Pick your size and get a 3500mah battery. End thread

I wrote surefire when they pulled some crap around Black Friday a few years ago.

For handgun lights I use Streamlight TLR-1-HL. For handheld I really like the Surefire G2xpro. For rifle mounted lights I like the Inforce WML, but have just recently started using Modlite and they are incredible.

This is similar, but not identical, to the one I carry (I guess they discontinued mine). I clip it to my back pocket, but would also be good for your wife to stash in her purse and/or glove box. It has a magnet on one end or you can also clip it to the bill of your hat if you need your hands freed up. I've been very happy with mine.

If you like the Streamlight why don't you use it in both cases? They're both rail mounts, aren't they?

I use Elzetta. If I bought a new rifle mounted light, it would be Cloud Defensive Rein.
