I am launching at South Shore Marina tomorrow morning. I haven't decided wether to try the rigs in Lake Borgne, run up to the trestles or stay in the marshes. I haven't fished this area in years. Does anyone have some current reports? TIA for any tips.

Man, the water in the Lake is filthy; we are still waiting to recover from the strong persistent east winds that we had not long ago. If you know a good redfishing spot deep in the marsh, that is where I would go.

Yeah, you're not the first to warn me about the lack of good water right now. Regardless a Tuesday in the boat beats any other alternative.

Gotta find clean water, 2 weeks back only place I could find was in Lake Catherine along the RR tracks. Found a few nice trout and reds there.

I much more prefer Lake St. Catherine Island Marina. It's so easy to launch there.

They've always had it when I launch there, but I'd call ahead...

They have live most days until they run out, go early.
Trout are starting to show at the Lake B rigs. Reds on the shoreline at Alligator point/bend. The marsh has fish too, but it is getting grassy in ponds. The Lake P shoreline out of chef has reds too, pick the side with favorable winds that day.

I ain't fishing this week and I'll be in Navarre next. Have at it!

Is there a map with rig locations?

I'm sure there is, but I just try the wheelchair rigs near the large Alligator point rig. They have a shell pad next to each one. Fish the bottom on the shells with live bait in clear moving water.
The Lake B rigs closer to Biloxi Marsh have trout too.

Don’t waste your time at the rigs, especially if you’re fishing with live bait. Hit the west side of Lake B or run to the Biloxi Marsh. When you come back, fish cuts in the marsh with tidal movement along the ICW.

Bring crab traps so it’s all worth your time, crabs are running like crazy.

i have a few crab nets i might bring, never used them off the boat. Chicken necks should work well?

Go to a seafood market and buy speckle trout heads.

Idk if I’d do nets just because you’re going to fish. The only way nets would work is if you planned on working up and down a shore line with a trolling motor. With fishing if you try to do two things well you end up not doing anything good. Traps would offer you a better yield after a 6hr soak.

How did you do?

Thinking about heading there Friday as my last few redfish trips to Delacroix have been rough.

Some of the most productive areas are those rigs for nice size trout using live croakers or shrimp.
