Looks as if the bait shops will be closed from what I heard. We will be fishing plastic and I plan to toss the cast net for some live shrimp. Any areas yall heard of that's worth trying. Was thinking the jetties, elmers, and maybe head over to bird island. Thanks yall!

UPDATE: Well, we drank beer, got a good wind burn, and finally found the hard HEADS! WE fished hard yesterday all around the island and inland marsh. Water is very low. Managed a couple of specks, sheepshead, and reds. Good luck to anyone headed out

Roadside with mirrodines & matrix is all ya need. If you look on google maps, you can see where the deeper areas are.

From my understanding that's what this board is for. You can be a dick on the OT if that's your intention, and I don't FB. Happy Holidays buddy! ????

Lol, so we should leave the boat back home and just bring 5 gallon buckets? Ha ha! I'm looking forward to just being away for a couple of days.

Thats what I do this time of year. I may bring the yak but it usually stays loaded in truck because I bounce around spots too often.

But ya never know... Vidrines still catching em out da boat on rock jetties.

No worries...it could have been taken either way.

We are 4 headed down together...4 5 gallon buckets it is!

Side note, I picked up a few of those Paul Dine XL soft/hard baits. Which colors are yall having success with? My luck it'll be the only color I didn't buy.

No fish in the lakes this time of year. Get a map and find some natural bayous. They are the curving bayous that connect ponds to lakes or lakes to lakes. The curves in those bayous are naturally deeper than the straightaways. Fish dead shrimp on the bottom in those curves and any run outs that you find. The mouths of said bayous are good too as long as they are at least 5/6’ deep. With water temps as they are dead shrimp on bottom is the way to go this weekend. Good luck.
