First Lite Hunting gear

Looking for some cold weather camo for those yearly trips to bow hunt in Illinois and was wondering if anyone has the first lite pants or jackets and how they measure up to the Sitka line. Price wise is a little more reasonable but is it comparable in performance and will it block the wind like Sitkais known to do. TIA

which outer wear line do you have and do you use it in temps below 20 degrees

Do it. I've essentially replaced all my stuff with First Lite, everything from early season bow hunting to freeze your arse off late season.

I have First Lite, KUIU, and UA Ridge Reaper. I love the First Lite. I have a Woodbury Jacket that is the most perfect piece of clothing I have ever owned.

I have basically switched all my gear over to firstlite.
Last season I made 2 whitetail tree stand hunts in the 20's using the following:
Tops
Wick Longsleeve shirt
Kiln Longsleeve Merino Hoody
Woodbury Jacket
Bottoms
Wick Thermal
Obsidian Merino Pants
Uncompaghre Puffy Pants
North Branch Bibs
Headwear
Merino Beanie
Merino Neck Gaiter
Gloves
Under Armour Liner Gloves
First Lite Merino Gloves
Cabelas Hand Muff
Footwear
Wolverine Liner Sock
Cabelas Merino Sock
Cabelas 400gr Laceups
The woodbury, uncompaghre, and north branch were carried in strapped on my stand. I would put the pants on, climb up the tree, then put my jacket on once up the tree.
If youre going to be treestand sitting, check out the new solitude stuff and some base layers. Its designed for that.

On this topic, all of my hunting stuff was stolen last year, good news is I get to buy new stuff.
Other than like First Lite and Sitka, what are some good options? This will be south louisiana hunting, so nothing too crazy cold.
Have typically just bought whatever cabelas has on sale, but thinking of getting something nicer. Priorities would be silent and will be bow hunting so needs to be mobile enough to draw comfortably.

It truly is.
I have a Woodbury jacket, Catalyst Softshell Pants, a Seak Stormtight Rain Jacket, wick long boxer briefs, boot top kiln long johns, regular wick long johns, a wick short sleeved crew shirt, and a Klamoth hoody.
Going to buy a vest and one of the pairs of rain pants (haven't decided which yet) before this season starts.
I'd wear First Lite clothing every day of my life, but I don't think a judge would like it if I showed up at trial in head to toe First Lite Fusion.

I wear Sitka but I did go snow sking where the first lite stuff comes from and the area is badass. I've touched their gear and the quality seems like it is there.

I have the Catalyst softshell pants as well. I love the fusion pattern. The inside of my Woodbury reminds me of a sleeping bag I had when I was a kid. Soft and quiet.

Sitka has better duck hunting products than FL. FL makes quality stuff though.

I have a good bit of first lite stuff. For below 20 tree stand hunts I wear a light merino shirt, medium or heavy merino over that and a sanctuary jacket. For bottoms I wear the lighter merino long john bottoms, some kanab pants and sanctuary bibs. Do not walk to your stand in the sanctuary stuff, youll sweat through every layer underneath it. I bought my stuff in like 2015 so the names and products are probably different now.

Looking to buy some new gear for this year and have heard great things about first light. My biggest concern is durability of outer layers, walk a lot through brush and thickets and most of the kuiu and Sitka stuff I’ve seen was more geared for mountain hunting that would tear up easily in Louisiana.

They make a pant now called the sawbuck which is supposed to be a brush pant.
As far as the rest of my gear. I don't wear any of my puffy items as outer layers when going through that type of brush but haven't had an issue with any of my other items.
