Pops is wanting to sell his 21 Bay champ but I have no clue what it would be worth. Its in fair condition at best. Stringers were replaced in 2006 and complete transom rebuild in 2016. Needs some TLC but I wouldnt mind buffing it and cleaning it up if it helped resale value. Has a 1999 mecury optimax 200 saltwater series engine. All cylinder compressions are over 125. Im guessing MAYBE $7k if it had a good buff and waxing? What you baws think?

regardless of how it runs the outboard is basically free of value.
so...whatever you think the hull is worth
5000 minimum unless it has holes in it

20 yr old 2/4 strokes aren’t worth much, would actually move faster without a motor. Would detail Boat and make sure trailer was ready for a 1,000 mile trip then post pics online. Drop a 200 hp anything on transom and be fishing for under $25k with a nice sled.

Just put the motor to da road, someone will pick it up.

Assuming avg condition and runs well...the motor is half the value

Putting a value on an old questionable motor is silly. Nada sites are a joke with Boat/motor pricing not to be believed evah.

In its day it was a very sought after hull. Champion shite the bed with crappy sealing off the transom to water intrusion. I had champion 202 bass boat with a bad transom. If the boat/motor and trailer all function somebody would probably take it off your hands for about 8K to get on the water. Problem is it is going to become a money pit if it already is not. Motor probably not long for the world, trailer gremlins and of course any and all electronic, switches and lights.

That mod may have a wood transom and balsa decks. Buddy had same boat and his motor fell off in vermilion bay. The 24 champion is the more desirable of those bayboats.

If it was a 24 ....$$$$$
21 ...... not so
21 ...... not so

I think you’d be surprised. Those boats are known for transom issues. If the transom has been replaced, the motor runs strong, and you can clean it up it may sell for 10 or so.

Clean it up and ask $10k, don’t be afraid. Bet you get an offer between that and the $7k you’re thinking. Change the water pump, plugs, clean the strainer and get a Merc certified wrench to go over it and write it up. Shiney and clean boats sell.
Good Luck

how much would you pay for that motor?
200-300 bucks?
it’s not worth anything
that’s not a bad thing it just is

Give it a very good cleaning, do the typical maintenance on the motor, put it in a fresh set of batteries. Then make sure she is good to go for a test run, you’ll be surprised. I bet you could get between $7-9k.
