F-150 Question

My 2013 F-150 has become sluggish with diminishing fuel economy. Any suggestions as to what could be causing this? Fuel filter? Spark plugs?

OP, I changed my spark plugs last week (Ecoboost) and my truck runs a lot better and smoother. Took me about and hour and a half in my driveway.

If plugs or filters haven't been changed yet and you're at 100K miles, do all of those.
Speaking of 35s... can't wait till mine wear down enough to go back down. Should have stuck with the BFGs in a 33" like originally planned

i just switched from the BFG rugged terrains 33's to KO2 33s and lost 1mpg. Been getting about 15-16mpg since the ko2 on my 2013 5.0

I did this on my old ecoboost at 65K miles and it made a big difference. I went with aftermarket plugs because I heard the OEM plugs are junk.

I ordered the KO2s. When I went to get them on the owner of the dealership said he had a set of Kumhos Road Venture MTs in a 35 that he ordered for a guy last year who never came and got them. Ive been running Cooper ST MAxx (34x11.something) and have averaged 17.2 in my 2011 5.0. I just changed the spark plugs and coolant and I seem to be getting slightly better MPG and the truck just runs better.

My 2011 5.0 has been running like shite lately.
I've tried a few fixes that haven't done shite. Next up is new plugs, and if that doesn't help it's time for an upgrade

Carbon build up in combustion chamber is frequently the culprit. Of course you should change the plugs @100k and ensure a clean OEM air filter. Assuming no codes.
But some discount gasolines don't have the additives to keep the valves and comubstion chamber clear of carbon. This buildup decreased the effective size of the combustion chamber thus increasing the compression ratio. Also when this carbon gets hot it can glow like a glow plug. SO the effect spark knock. When the knock sensor detects these knocks it retards the timing reducing performance and fuel mileage.
So the cure is to have a combustion chamber cleaning service done by a COMPETENT shop. You may be able to get some improvement by running Tier 1 fuel with a lot of cleaning additives. Chevron, Exxon/Mobile, Shell, etc. Run it like you stole it. It may take several tank fulls.

Bought the Ford OEM motor craft plugs from autozone. Gapped to .028

SCT3 with 5 star 87 octane performance/tow tune. I have the 87 economy tune, but I don't like it because it's sluggish.

My main issue is sluggish (not terrible) and a rough rough idle. Knocked out Evap valve. Ran Lucas oil fuel system cleaner and a few tanks of 93 octane.
I have a scanner and it shows 5-10 misfires on 2 cylinders in the last 10 drive cycles. However it also shows status "OK" next to this and I don't have any codes. I'm assuming a very small amount of misfires isn't an issue as it shows status "ok"?
Like I said spark plugs will be next. I know oil and air filter are good. Reason I thought it was Evap related is bc my fuel gauge only reads 3/4 full after fill up. I know vacuum problems can mess with fuel reading sometimes

My idle has calmed down quite a bit.
If anyone is trying to DIY spark plug change, there's the Ford mechanic on YouTube who's got some great videos. Can't remember the name but it's obvious when you search.
