Off all next week and missed out on majority of duck season while I was offshore. Any places to go duck hunting in the east zone this week?

Any guided places? Any other hunting recommendations to do with all this free time?

I'd like to go to Sherburne next weekend.
Not sure what I need to do to bring my 7 year old. I know I need la duck, fed stamp, HIP and WMA permit. What does he need?

There's tons of ducks in catahoula parish still, all the refuge lakes I normally hunt are 8+ feet deep now and I don't have a blind for my boat to go hunt them.

Haven't heard from catahoula lake lately, but I'm sure most of the blinds are flooded and decoys under water on it.

Catahoula looks like an ocean! Passed by this week and the water was about even with the dam on the diversion canal.

I crossed the canal today and it was ridiculous. All this water has pretty much ended my season. Not to mention I'm in Houston now and won't be back till Wednesday.

Ya it makes for some tough hunting in places but we still have been killing a few here and there. Where did you normally hunt?

On the catahoula NWR. We did excellent during the first split. As of late we've only been killing woodies and ring necks though. About the time good numbers of mallards moved in the rains came and made it where I couldn't get to em anymore.

I'm pretty sure he doesn't need anything if he's with you and you have all the right stuff.

On Dewey willis? I've never hunted there but always wanted to go. If the season wasn't over I'd say we should trade hunts, I'll show you where the spots are here and you show me there.
