Seen various reports here and there and figured to start an official reports thread. For the most part, sounds like there is a good number of birds down. What y'all seeing?

Excited to get back in the blind for the coastal opener this weekend.

Went work on one of our blinds Friday. Saturday went to another location we hunt to work on those blinds. Only one more weekend then it will be here. Can not wait.

I'll be on Toledo Saturday morning with another OB'er. I fished Toledo as recently as 2 weeks ago and didn't see much. Hopefully some birds have moved in since then and with the Texas side opening last weekend, maybe that'll push some birds over on the LA side for our opener.

We'll see. Just excited to get out there and sling some decoys.

Going get my blind ready this weekend. We don't open until the 18th, but the farmer has been telling me we have a good bit of birds out there

On another note, I just got awarded a lottery hunt in Grand Cote, near Marksville for 12-20-17. Pretty pumped for that as well. I've never hunted that area before

Saw a good number of birds near Forked Island when we were working blinds last weekend. I’m going out of decoys Friday. I’ll post again then

Scouted Sunday. Not many bids around, but found a couple holes holding a bunch of birds.

I drove through Gueydan, Klondike, and Lake Arthur on the way to Bell City today and saw tons of geese. Saw several flocks of ducks too.

Saw Larry's early survey posts elsewhere. Sounds like it could be a good early season this year. He also mentions the Swan Lake illinois valley count being 324K ducks - 3rd highest ever and earliest this count has been that high. 66K gadwalls. Canada seems to be frozen early this year. Catahoula sounds like it will be rough this year though.
