This; was fighting gloves all morning in the blind yesterday. Can't get the back pressure right with gloves on, usually can leave left glove on though.

Have some older Cabelas shooting gloves that are pretty heavy and work well. Can't beat ski mittens though for atv or boat rides to blind

I have neoprene gloves that I'll wear to keep them warm but as soon as gametime approaches I take the glove off my shooting hand.

I'd rather just load a hand warmer belt full of hot hands and go raw dog. I haven't found a pair of gloves that keep my hands warm, dry, enable dexterity to load a gun, handle the dog, whatever else I need to do, so I just use a hand warmer. To each their own though

I even leave my left glove off sometimes. Second hand can get lot more range out of your call.

I fought with this issue for a long time because my hands get so dry in the winter that my skin splits and bleeds on all my fingers if they get wet and dirty in the cold weather.

This is going to sound retarded but I finally settled on using a combination of a few things. I wear latex disposable gloves under these rubber coated work gloves. The gloves are reeeal light and give you basically full dexterity, and dry easily. The latex gloves underneath keep the mud and water from getting through to my skin. This is really half the battle for me. I pretty much wear this as soon as I get out of the truck on every hunt unless it's pretty warm out, like teal season.

ETA: if you need to use a smartphone with these gloves on, you can just put a fingertip in your mouth for a second and as long as it's even a little bit damp it'll work on the phone screen.

Then if it's really cold out I bring a pair of wool fold-back mittens that I stuff hand warmers into the mitten part of. Shooting hand side I might put the warmer in my coat pocket once we're in the blind.

The whole combination seems like a lot to bring but works well for me and my hands don't get all chewed up and bleeding like they used to.

Glove on one hand other hand is bare for calling and loading shot gun. I keep hand warmers in the pocket on the side with the bare hand. when leaving blind I will put on the other glove

that's my problem, the back of my hands dry out, crack, and eventually bleed. i'm also skinny so i don't have much insulation and my hands/feet are corpse-like (limits getting my hands on ms. mack ) from the first cold front until the weather finally warms up.
i use those fold back mittens when fishing in cold weather but i finally end up loosing feeling in my finger tips and end up having to take a break to warm them back up.
best thing i've found for staying warm is cheap cotton gloves underneath leather work gloves. dexterity goes to crap but i'm warm.
i may have to try your system.

I've seriously thought about zip tying some hand warmers to my shotgun stock where I grip it, so I don't have to put my shooting hand in my pocket when it's really cold. Might try that to your fishing rod, would at least get your left hand.
