Looking to start learning some new areas this year. I typically spend most of my time at either Verret, Pigeon, bind river, or false river. Not looking for specific spots, just new places to go that I haven't been before. What's your favorite places to go?

Sorry- not sure on other lakes or areas, but curious if verret is still a descent lake to fish? I have been wanting to scratch the itch to fish and with a busy schedule- I am not always able to make the trip down to the marsh. Would love to learn how to fish freshwater again due to convenience (location). TIA

It's what happen as the OT dickheads come over to the OB. I thought this would be a good thread for everybody to see some sights they haven't thought about or hadn't been to in a long time.

Des Allemands, old river, fausse point, Tickfaw River (Not on the weekend during the summer) and Bayou Black would be a few left off your list that I would add.

Launch at Pete’s landing on hwy 444. Make sure you have a black with blue tail worm rigged Texas style with a 1/16 oz slip sinker on your rod, it catches bass in that dark water back there.

lake concordia and lake st. john. rent a cabin for the weekend on one of those lakes. make a couple weekend trips a year. there are a lot of other lakes and rivers in that area within 20 minutes of those. most notably, old river-vidalia and old river- deer park, both of those are influenced by the mississippi river, but the fishing is good when the river is right, but i don't know when it's right over there. black river lake is about 20 minutes from there also, and brushly bayou, lake bruin is about a 40 min ride, larto is about 40 min also

Man, we need to resurrect that thread from time to time. I may go and do that right now.

I unfortunately haven’t made near enough fishing trips this year, though.

lacassine reserve

I'm 25 minutes from the launch, and I haven't made a trip out there yet this year. But to be fair, I've only made two fishing trips the whole year.
