So we’ve had this dog hanging around our camp for the last week or so. We’ve only come in contact with him once but he wasn’t very friendly. Anybody have any guess on the breed?

You really think there is a "breed" that corresponds to that thing? Hell, may even have some Yote in him.

No collar. Wonder if somebody just dropped him off. Located in Perry County. There are a couple neighbors close by but they say he’s not theirs.

My question re: the breed is so we can maybe gauge the usual temperament of this kind of dog. This joker was on our back porch sitting in one of the chairs he had apparently just torn up when one of the guys came walking around the corner. The dog started growling and eventually took off. But if the dog comes at us when the kids are around, it may not end so good for him.

When I was younger, I had a blue heeler stray as a pet... step mom took him in and he was an absolutely amazing dog... very protective... once we got to know each other he wouldnt leave my side... always wanted to play and work... slept at the foot of my bed every night... not needy at all, but just there... very smart and intuitive dog too... I miss him

Heeler or (Australian) cattle dog. Probably not very friendly cause he’s been run off everywhere he’s gone.
Usually good dogs.

if you can catch him he would probably make a good dog. when i was young one saved me from a domestic turkey i was throwing rocks at. i turned my back on the turkey and it started charging trying to put the spurs to me but out of nowhere the heeler came and busted his arse

It’s a heeler like others said. Tell it to get in the truck and he’ll jump in. I have had them all my life and aside from them biting Running kids on the heels when they’re puppies they don’t bite and aren’t aggressive to humans. Protective of their owners and home but it’s all bark for the most part. He’ll keep the snakes, moles, rats, squirrels, Birds, cats, etc from running wild.

Breed?

I will bet that the two who mated that resulted in that dog were AT LEAST different breeds. In fact, I'd say that the two who mated were most likely not both a single breed either.

That's what it looks like. They are smart and energetic, but need to be trained. Can be great dogs. Be patient with him, once you get his trust, you will have a good dog.
