Every time I take a gun in a boat, I lose it overboard...

Just the luck.

I lose my guns overboard only after inadvertently shooting holes in the hull trying to kill the water snake that fell in with me.

Yessir. Friend of mine got stranded at low tide without his gun a few weeks ago up in this little bay and said the brown bears were stalking him.

So is knowing your tide charts before you plan your trip. I suppose he'll know better next time.. I can't imagine winging it like that.

Not Trying to Hijack, but as someone who just bought their first boat why carry?

Trouble at the landing? Snakes?

Of course as an inexperienced boater I lost all my guns in a tragic accident on my first trip but should I go get another to carry with me now.
