I work with Darrin. He's been after this deer all season. Guess his effort paid off.

Arnaudville. He shot it behind his house.

He would still be riding on the hood this morning if I would have shot him.

I'm gonna guess this was private land. Article said they were putting out feed, which would be illegal on public land.

Great buck. The “inside” points on the beam may not count as a typical. That would keep it from becoming a record.

the article also said he would see 13 orange vests a hunt because everybody was hunting the buck. just wondering if it was public or a small hunting club

private property. All of his neighbors were out in force hunting him the last month. thus the comment.

Yea he has not been scored by a B&C official scorer and from what I understand some local guy tried to measure It that had no clue about how all those deductions are suppose to be measured and his take offs on the typical measurements were not correct either. Best thing they did was just try to measure everything best they could and spread and came up with that 190+ score. Which is probably somewhat close to the true NONtypical score. B&C TYPICAL will most likely land him in the mid to high 170's from what a really close friend that I trust in scoring told me that layed his hands on the rack. He didn't want to make a negative comment about the score they were hollering about and just told him great buck and moved on. And that it is. Great once in a lifetime buck. Not gonna make our top 10 net B&C typical in the state.

That's an awesome buck, but it's hard to imagine that being a state record. It's still the deer of a lifetime for just about anyone.

I've hunted a club outside Arnaudville that had some hosses on it. I'm guessing that it's off Portage Rd. They have quite a trophy case in their building.

Ask Darrin if they need another member who will likely only hunt 2-3x per season (archery only)

I pass by that club all the time going to hunt IB. I have admired it from google earth many a time
