Before I even start I just want people to know I'm not asking for your favorite spot/bait/time of year etc. I'm simply asking as a guy who has never fished there recommendations on launches and any tips on navigating and fishing in general down there. Thanks for the help!

Not many options for launching. You can launch under the bridge on Hwy 90 (get off right before the bridge on the single lane exit that curves under the road) or cross the bridge and launch next to the truck stop (not sure if the launch is still open). You could also drive to the end of Bayou Gauche road and launch there. Lots of canals coming off the main bayou either way you go. I launch off of hwy 3127 in Hahnville and run the canals to the lake sometimes but it is a much longer run than launching in DA.

If you launch near hwy 90 on Bayou Des Allemands it's not a long run to the Lake or the opposite direction to Lake Salvador. There are canals off the bayou in both directions that hold fish.

They had trucks with empty boat trailers parked on both sides of Hwy 90 when I passed this past weekend. I'm sure its open.
