I want to get a good set of cleaning knives. What do you guys use?

Best thing I have isn't a set. It's the outdoor edge razor knife. The blades are inserts and cut amazingly. Best skinning knife I've used

+1 for the Outdoor Edge Razor knive.

OE or Havalon for skinning. I also have Old Hickory Boning and Butcher knives for processing.

I buy the cheap gut hook from acadmey, a disposable blade for skinning and a victorinox or dexter boning knife for the meat. Don't try to find one blade that does it all.

Agreed. One knife just for the skinning and whatever you feel comfortable with for the rest.

Havlon Piranha FTW. Just be careful, they will slice you open with the quickness.

I use custom hand made knives and older family heirloom knives that we have all handed down. About 10 in total we use

Always use my Puma "Sergeant" pocket knife which I carry daily. Never needed a special knife just to clean a dear.

I'm sold on the Bubba blade.

I love my Kershaw knives and have cleaned many a Elk and Deer with them. BUT, My Bro N Law has a Havalon knife and when mine goes dull, he keeps cutting and whiles I'm sharpening, he just changes blades.
However, like said above, you have to be careful with any sharp knife or they'll cut you quick.
Havalon
Kershaw

Not much to look at but that thin high carbon steel will get very sharp. Couple different people make them look for a sheep skinner. Between that and a gut hook and a small pocket knife you got the basics covered.

Outdoor Edge Swingblade... Best of both worlds!

This is my jam.... Old Timer

I still use an old timer too. The one you posted is the 15OT. I prefer the smaller 152OT sharpfinger.

I've got the big one and the smaller one to go along with the smaller one with the gut hook option
Keep all 3 in my bag at all times!!!

You'd really be old school if that was an original Schrade Sharpfinger.

Haha my dad's got it! The blade is about half the height it was due to the years of sharpening. I'll have to see if I can get a picture of it. Love that old knife. That's what got me hooked on the Old timers

I bought one off of Ebay a while back. They're great knives.
