The thought has crossed my mind to put a scope on one of the barrels (6") and do a little handgun hunting? I'm looking at a .357 though. Can you or Downshift comment on that caliber for deer hunting?

While a 357 will kill a deer, a 44 will be the better option IMO

Stuff a wheel gun full of buffalo bore and light a few off. You'll buy one.

I've gotten 4 people to buy one that way

I can only imagine the concussion from that shite dude.

Ever shoot that hot stuff out of a 357 snubby?

I like the idea of the .357 due to the ability to go down to a .38. If I buy a .44 that's all it is - a one trick pony. I could hunt with the long barrel and shoot .38 through the 4 inch barrel. If you guys are interested I'll email you the auction number over at Gunbroker.

No I've never tried it. It rocks your shite bad enough out of a 4" smith though. I read that they kick hard enough to cause the bullets to jump crimp.

You can shoot very mild .44 special out of a .44 mag

Am I too late for the wheel gun discussion? Here is my 44 Ruger Redhawk. Haven't hunted with it yet but may try it one day.

That Redhawk is actually an NRA commemorative edition. I acquired it from a collector a few months ago and I'm pretty sure it's never been fired.

Looks like a fine revolver. I don't know that much about Dan Wessons but I think they originally came with 4 barrels.

That one doesn't have the barrel tool with it. I really dig those zebra wood grips.

The Dan Wesson supermags were the clear favorite of silhouette shooters for years. If they can land 100+ yards shots with a wheelgun they must be pretty solid.

I liked the interchangeable barrel setup they used but it never really took off.

I know a guy who had a DW .44 that would hit a beer can at 100 yards every shot with somebody who could shoot it well enough.
