I too respect the racing greats before me. I wish Carol Shelby could've lived forever. May Dan RIP.

Carroll Shelby was actually responsible for getting the Ford GT-40 up to speed so Gurney and AJ Foyt could win that race. Ferrari had owned the Le Mans race for many years. The Ford GTs won 4 consecutive years. Gurney's All American Racer's company was also special. he was the only person to design, own and drive a F1 winning car at SPA in Belgium.
I actually had the pleasure to survive driving a early 260 Cobra around for a week or so when I was 15. (CSX 2044) It was scary fast! And Fun!! I even raced and beat a 63 Stingray with the FI package.
Glory days for sure.
