Just got one for Christmas. Didn't see that coming but I'm not complaining about a new rifle to add to the collection. Any reviews of this model gun or manufacturer? I've only ever looked at the H&R which I thought were cheaply made, although I do have a 45-70 H&R, bought used on a good deal.

I love mine, I shot my first deer of the season with it over the weekend.

What bullets are you plan to used. I did find my rifle like the 175g Hornady.

Hog daddy- I got the exact gun. I'm sighting it in Wednesday and plan on taking down a deer or two before the season ends.

The scope that was bought with it was a Redfield Revenge scope. None of this was my decision so did I get a decent deal?

Sweet shooting gun, not much of a kick, I sight it in at + 2 inches @ 100 yards and at 200 yards it was right on bulls eyes. make sure you tighting the screws on the mount and the scope after each shot when you are sight in.

The 35 Whelen caliber is bad to the bone. I know nothing about the gun, however. I expect you've got a helluva lesson.

CVA's are pretty well known as a fantastic bargain rifle.

Shoot whatever it likes the best. .35 whelen is a monster caliber for whitetails and ammo selection is not hugely important. Any soft point bonded bullet should do well.

A 35 Whelen is my main deer cartridge. I don't ever track a deer with it.

I picked up one of these last year in a 44 mag. I've been pleased with mine.
