B&C doesn't use tip to tip measurement anyways, and screw deductions, if they grow it, they get credit for it in my book

That's a nice deer. Time to get a gun where you don't have to go looking for them.

B&C says measure tip to tip on main beams. I'm sure I did everything wrong though so no telling what it actually is. I did round down to the nearest 1/4 inch just so it wouldn't inflate numbers

I was just messing with you. Although tip to tip doesn't count in the score, if you were submitting it to B&C you are required to send tip to tip measurement to make sure all the measurements make sense, or something like that.

Nevertheless, fine deer you killed sir. You should be proud of him. I would be.

I agree with trying not to inflate numbers. I killed a really big deer a couple weeks ago and the only thing I personally measured was inside spread. A friend and my dad measure the rest and came up with almost the same number two times. It didn't really matter to me, and I didn't want to tell people that big number and have anyone speculate I may have been dishonest.

Any time you say 06, 30-06, or aught six you gotta spit.

and the "-" or "aught" should be pronounced as no less than a 2 syllable word.

Pronounced "aught"

Scoring deer is secondary to me. 15 years ago all people asked about was spread. Now they all wanna know the score.

"What did he score ?"

Me- " Final score was me -1. Him -0"

I've noticed that too. About 6 or 7 years ago people started asking what he scored. It used to be "what's the spread?"

they have a place for it on the form but it doesn't count towards the score of the deer

at least according to the scorer in the office next to me

My step son is like that. A 9 point is better than an 8 no matter size mass or width and you can't tell him any different

As a younger hunter I found myself only caring about number of points. Now I'm really concerned about the age of the deer, antler mass, and either width or height.
