I actually feel bad when I'm off and make evening hunts and the wife has to cook and take care of the kids with no help. I'll be able to skip evening hunts now and yea, pressure is off for not only vacation but past 4 years worth

I hunted a buddies place on invites at least 2 dozen times, never shot a deer. One morning he puts me in stand down from him about 300 yds. I shoot a 12 point that scored in the 130's, that was heading passed me to him on a doe.
I have not so much as gotten a phone call to come hang out there out of hunting season let alone make a hunt since then It's been 10 years

Running joke on my 280. Has issues with it last year light striking bullets. Cost me two bucks. Its shot 3 bucks this year. None dropped, no exit wound and of course not much of a blood trail. Prob a great caliber but its just not meeting my expectations. Prob me being spoiled by a 30-06 that was a wrecking ball on deer.
