Whoever said it take 3 months pssshhhhh. Took the class last Saturday (7/30/16) and applied ONLINE. Monday, I got the "accepted" email and paid for it while I was in line to get finger printed (which be prepared to wait over an hour). Wednesday, got an email saying I was approved. Saturday(8/6/16), got my permit in the mail. YEE frickING BAW!

Moral of the story do everything you can online.

what's funny is all these places tie in "notarizing" service in their class to generate more $$

Well for those who want to do it and are thinking it's going to take that long. I know it's hard to see under your bridge.

Yeah, I still can't understand why people still send in fingerprint cards or paper applications. The time taken on the front end is well worth it.

I guess because not everyone lives in Baton Rouge and has access to the LSP HQ for prints.

My wife got hers in 5 days.

If I lived in Shreveport, I would take the day off to get my prints done rather than wait 4 months.

Do they not have electronic fingerprint capabilities in any parishes around the state or is it just that the LSP can't accept prints from anyone else without extreme scrutiny?

I wondered this also. Could you go to Troop C and get fingerprinted? Or some other troop? Or do you have to get them done at LSP HQ?

Gordon Hutchinson at Bass Pro in Denham.

It was a renewal so I had to show up around 10:00 for the shooting portion. Had a couple hours to kill so I hung around the shooting section for about 45 mins. I will say that those 45 mins opened my eyes as to the creatures of the LP. Stereotypes don't just get created out of thin air.
