What do you consider high?

Uncle keeps telling me to stop driving 2 hrs to get in the stand and join a club closer to home.

The one in ft Adams is $4500. that plus the license fees, you're damn near at $5000 before you even see a stand. They do kill nasties on a regular basis though. Their camp is nicer than my trailer. It's not even roughin it. It's a hell of a place.

I do not have the exact numbers in front of my but I remember them being around 3k- 3.5k. This does not include sleeping, camp days, and other fees. Like Jab said, they kill monsters but they pay for them too.

shite, now that I think about it. It may be more than that.

In ms along the river, woodville, ft Adams, yazoo, etc. expect to pay 3k at an absolute minimum.

Hell even finding one for $3k is becoming more and more difficult. Which is a damn shame.

Pretty soon to be able to hunt decent land, you're gonna have to be bill gates rich. Which is fricking ridiculous.

I havent shopped in a few years but I did hear about a club in Denham that was under 1k and low on members. I didnt even follow up on that one because a 1 hour drive thats free beats a 30 minute 1k drive. However, when I graduate I will replace school with hunting so I will probably join another place.

You can find them for south of a grand all day in LP.

I was in one in Holden a couple years ago for $500. Didn't kill, but saw tons of young bucks.

But to hunt a decent part of LA you're gonna be looking at $1000 at a minimum. Some parts of MS can be had for ~1000 too, like around the gloster area, decent hunting, but not worth $1400 after the license to me. But anywhere along the river is gonna cost you an arm and a leg.

I can hunt my uncles land at cat island anytime I want, so I don't need to join a club, I just do it every so often, just to get a change of scenery and such.

Yeah they have lots of clubs in LP but most are full. For beginners and older people it's perfect. Serious people head to the river.

Our land is in the Gloster area. I use that term loosely but that's the closest city. We used to have more than enough land to manage and it was ripe. We go rid of a section last year that was mostly planted with pines but I think that the buyers are of the brown it's down mentality. They are some yuppies that we need to talk to and get on the same page. Not saying that we are going to strong arm them, it's their land, but we need to be on the same page.

Timber companies. Deer are still there but they bed in the new growth now.

I have some family land in Busy Corner. Not enough for a club but plenty for a couple of people to hunt. With little to no pressure we hold a few nice bucks that I feel certain were raised elsewhere.

Too many rules will ruin the experience.

Be sensible about it.
Establish a size buck rule, times for getting on and off stands, and the obvious safety rules.
Don't be a dick about having guests... Hunting is something everybody should be able to enjoy.. Obv have to set # per hunter per day.
Community stands, especially for 1100 acres is a good thing.

People get pissed if they feel somebody is on top of them.. The community stands will eliminate that...if you want a climberin a tree fine but permanent stands are thAt ... Permanent... Climber should be confined to areas that aren't around the permanent stands.

Leave the fun in it.
Going to the deer camp should relax enjoy time.

I understand the idea behind it but who wants to be the a-hole and fine the guy who shoots a 12pt deer opening weekend?
That's what I was thinking. As long as they kill how ever many does are required....

If they don't, fine them after the season. I'd think SOMEONE would be glad to use their doe tag for a kid though.

On the rules, my first one would be to leave everything like you found it- as in pick up after yourself.

Is everyone going to use the same camp? I've seen family members have issues over camp supplies to- as in seasoning, etc. One leave some and next time they go, there's none.
