That's always been my recommendation for a good, affordable rifle. BCM upper on an Aero lower.

Almost bought an Aero M4 lower for a clone but it's not marked M4A1.

I did it the other way around and that's not a bad way to go either.

I'm pretty sure they went bankrupt largely because they decided to stop focusing on civilian sells and focus on government contracts

They went bankrupt because investment bankers squeezed every nickel they could out of the company without re investing. They borrowed up to their arse and pocketed the money when debt payments came due.

It is kinda like the scene from Goodfellas when Paul went into business with the Club owner. They miked it dry and burnt the place to the ground when there wasn’t anything left to steal.

I bought one because it’s what I shot in the army, and it’s what I wanted to shoot when I got home. I have had no issues at all with my colt. In fact I love it.

Lots of Viet Cong and Hajis killed with a 5.56 round through a Colt firearm. But yeah Colt is trash.

How's that Sulzer firearm company doing btw?

You jarheads are so predictable. Y’all always want to spout off about how Colt is the because it’s the only thing you’ve ever used . Sorry, but they’re the laughing stock of the industry

Such a stupid thing to say. How can you compare a tiny shop to a huge corporation? Btw, Conrad's guns were better than what Colt offers.

Colt is the exact opposite of a huge corporation

The point is large company vs tiny store. Colt has 300 employees. Sulzer was only 1 or 2 people (every time I was there it was literally only Conrad).

I have been in the game for awhile. The ‘Colt Bashers’ are just as predictable, if not more.

There is nothing the company could do to satisfy a portion of the gun buying public. Have seen it over and over again.

it's time to let go. Colt is a shell of what it once was and their decisions over the past decade have been a comedy of errors. let's be honest, this isn't about market saturation. it's about them not having the capital to maintain production. there is no demand for their rifles beacuse they're 1.5x-2x as much as equal or better rifles. It's no longer profitable to produce them, so they figured they would virtue signal on their way out. im not sure what contracts they're "focusing on," seeing as they have nothing of note.

Relying on that Uncle Sam cheese is going to bury them. They shite on civilians and local shops and will pay the price.

Colt lacks the innovation that they once had. Instead of coming up with new designs of their own, they relied too much on being able to buy the rights to other designs for government contracts. Bringing back the Cobra was a day late and a dollar short.

bullshite. People bitch because of their prices, but they're still making solid firearms, regardless of the Internet opinions.

this is a big one. they don't innovate at all. other companies are much quicker to respond to consumer tastes

their shite is the exact same as all of the other budget ARs, but they charge an extra $300-400 for their rollmark. couple that with their prehistoric distributor/dealer policies and lack of innovation and it's pretty easy to see why most shops don't bother carrying them anymore. there's no demand for their overpriced products

How is Smith doing removing the action lock that most consumers don’t like?

Innovation? Is that what we are calling Ruger’s new single action with a half assed attempt at a proper gripframe install and grips that are too small for the gun from the factory?

Where are all of you calling the other companies out for their shite?
