I've got the opportunity to go fish it this coming weekend with a friend who has a pass. Anyone here besides Chedballz neighbor fish there? We used to fish there a lot 15 years ago but I'm sure things have changed since then.

Back then we only needed two lures...a blue/chartreuse spinnerbait with Colorado blades and a white baby minus 1 crank bait with pink eyes. What can y'all tell me about the place now and how has the fishing been recently?

Guy I work with fishes there. Only uses 1/4oz gold spoons. Always sending me pics of limits. So jelly.

Back in the day, you could rob any house in vacherie between thanksgiving and new years because everyone was in Clovelly. But alas, they closed the launch to the public.

Hopefully he chimes in. We used to be able to get into the back end of Delta Farms but I imagine that's all gated off now. Biggest bass was a 7.3 on a b/b jig. Good times.

Looking forward to the trip regardless. Just was wondering how the bite is right now.

Its a fun place fish. I've heard the bass are biting right now down there just has they have been in bayou black. The summer time bass are usually not big at all. A black beetle spin, a bass colored crank bait, and a worm is all you need. I haven't been since winter time but this time of the year you can focus on the outgoing tide and small run outs. Incoming tide over there is super hard to fish.

I've fished it once after a hurricane came through and knocked all the gates down. It was the best bass fishing day i ever had.

I’ve fished there with a coworker several times, mainly during the winter. It was a pretty cool experience. Catching bass and redfish in the same spot, with the same spinner bait. Every other cast we pulled in one or the other. Ended up catching limit of bass, reds then moved closer to the lake. Caught 29 specks. I think it’s $600 for a pass per year

It's 400. I have the paperwork and application...just never went through with it. Yet. The new "year" for them starts Sept 1st and goes until Aug 31st obviously. And they don't prorate it from what I'm told (haven't verified that).

Fished there growing up. Pretty awesome fishing. You can fish the grass beds and banks for bass and reds and throw a popping cork in the middle of the canal and catch specks.

We used to launch at Clovelly and sneak into Delta Farms from the back side!

I haven't found specks in Clovelly for several years. I think all the jetty work they did around the property plus the freshwater diversion coming into Lake Salvadore had kept the water too fresh in the clovelly canals. I have had a couple good trips this spring for bass, sacalait, reds, and a few catfish. I haven't been back there in a month or two though. I have been playing around in Timbalier Bay chasing specks LOL

Yea this was years ago before fresh water diversion. I haven’t been there in a long time. I have boat launch in my parents back yard along the intracoastal so we fished more in the canals off of it, Salvador and then towards Pirout
