Looking at new stands, any recs appreciated

Currently looking at different lone wolf and summit models. Weight is primary and comfort a close second. Need something I can pack in and out of a 1-2 mile round trip and sit all day without being miserable.

Summit Viper is what I use. Not the lightest, but far from the heaviest. Easy to setup or pack up in the dark and comfortable enough for a long sit

Summit viper SD is a good balance of the two. I have a lonewolf hand climber and it is amazingly easy to climb with, light, and quit. Not very comfortable.

The summit openshot is pretty light and has a much bigger seat than the lone wolf.

Summit used to make a stand called a specialist sd which was open front, and they made the same stand that was closed front. They both came with net seats which sucked but you could cut the net off and put a regular summit seat. Best stands summit ever made. The open one weighed 14 pounds and the closed one was like 16. They quit making them for whatever reason. But I scooped the open front one, luckily.
If I buy a new stand, it’s gonna be a summit 180 max

I’m pretty partial to the API Grand Slam. (For reference I also own a Viper)

I’ve enjoyed my muddy stalker. Weighs 15lbs and folds flat together for packing. As comfortable as any other net seat style stand, and easy to climb with.

^ I was coming to make this exact post but then decided that teasing you with what was once available seemed unfair... lol. The specialist is a helluva climber if you can still find one.

I have a summit viper and it’s very comfortable and you can really sit all day if you want. That being said I only carry it half a mile or so most of the time. If I was hauling it 1-2 miles all the time I would try to shave a few pounds and look at maybe the open shot or even an x-stand at 12 pounds.

Lone Wolf hand climber. You will sacrifice some comfort but you can’t beat the weight or packability.

Summit Viper is what I prefer. Have 3 that I scatter through the woods and 1 I keep free to pack to new locations.

I have a summit viper with the saddle bags I used for public for a while. Just dial in your set up for walking in and out, as well as; packing everything in order to go up and down the tree. Bought some molle straps from army surplus that made a HUGE difference too.

Love my Lone Wolf, but I’m kinda small so the smaller seat and platform work for me.

My Treewalker is top notch, but they are not in business anymore. If I saw that coming I would have bought another one.

Guy I used to work with had one and liked it and about had me convinced to try one when I was complaining about the weight of my summit.

I use an “equalizer” climbing stand with molle straps. The leveling ability is the tits. I have made all day sits in it and comfort is pretty good.
