there's no way I'm fishing for the perches with a bait caster

agreed.

I have some small spinning reals on jig poles for perch...............but not doing much casting with them.

My main use for them. Im not waiting on a baitcaster to fall 25' when a spinning reel will free spool down in no time.

And when I'm bass fishing with one, I'm generally using a leader and swivel. Cuts down on the twist issues immensely.

Yup

And since this seems to be turning into a see what I can catch on a spinning rod let me add this.

Line twist is a PITA with spinning reels.

The line twist are worse than backlashes. I've been fishing with a baitcast for so long my thumb is setting on a hair trigger, if I sense the slightest irregularity during the cast that joker goes into immediate lockdown mode. With a spinning real my thumb gets all antsy and chit looking for something to do because the whole cast is full of irregularities like the slack line floppering through the eyes.

Good choice of reels. Have several, know quite a few folks that have them as well. Hard to beat for the price. Have some that are 3-4 yrs old and still going strong.

I fish freshwater don't know how they hold up with SW use.

I have 2 Pro Quallifier Baitcasters. I like them better than my Curado E.
