For that budget I’d get a nice used Airstream. You can always easily move it and resell it for most if not all of your money.

Someone told me that shipping containers had gotten hard to get and also very pricey.

seacans for a camp sound like a better idea than they really are

1) they are heavy...you'd better have a good road to bring them in and place them, and having access to equipment is pretty much a must. also, where you drop it is pretty much where it will stay

2) you need to be able to cut & weld, if you are planning on side or endwall openings (windows/doors/etc)

3) they are much smaller inside then you think by looking at them. for a camp for more than 2 ppl, you need two side by side

4) the newer ones will have a wood floor HEAVILY impregnated with insecticide. you'll need to pull that out and/or cover it up/encapsulate it

5) and after all that...you'll still want a porch/overhand/etc

so...better off building something or using a FEMA trailer

I have a 40’ so you aren’t telling me anything I don’t know. The place I bought from delivered and set in place for me. Set it on railroad ties. If you moderate handy man skills it’s not a hard build at all. You are right about being able to cut and but the also sell entry door kits that replaces the existing doors.

All in, I problem have $25k in it.

Im almost finished building a 20x36 fishing camp in Cocodrie. Would love to see the inside of yours.
