Hauled in from the Midland/Odessa area last night about 10 pm. Turned him out with the cows just after daylight this morning.

Dragonizm is a Drag Iron grandson.

I always enjoy these threads. Cool animals!

Saw these and a bunch more on our trip to Wichita Mountains back in January.

Those are the real deal. Those are “WR” branded cattle which stands for Wildlife Refuge.

They are one of the original 7 herds identified when they were on the brink of extinction.

That’s a cool looking animal right there. I enjoy these threads too. My uncle raised show cows for years.

Do these eventually becomes hides for sale? If so, house does one acquire them?

I have a big one on my living room floor from a tri color Brazilian. And I want more, but they take like 3 months to ship from cowhidesinternaional

Have never seen any American longhorn hides for sale

Correct. I have 10 Gumdrops daughters that’ll be ready to breed next spring. All of our brood cows are bred back, so I still have another 16 calves to come sired by him.

Some up and coming Gumdrops daughters...

Go to the Houston Stock Show and Rodeo, there’s usually several vendors with stacks of hides for sale.

Is your pasture south of Dallas? That’s what it looks like at least. Maybe northern LA. Beautiful herd though. I’m 9th generation Texan and we were one of the early families to grow Brangus cattle in Tx.

I've always liked lookin at long horns. You have some pretty animals . I ran brangus cattle for years until the dry weather got me in 2012. I sold 140 head that year. Just sold my last 30 head last year. I miss fooling with them but I'm not tied down. Sure makes going on vacation easier.

That is a beautiful bull. Now, please refresh me on what is the purpose of building a herd of longhorns with that kind of expense. They are not beef cattle, right?
