Anyone ever camp on the Chandeleurs and what is the cheapest way to get out there if I don't have a boat?

Swim, hitch a ride with a pelican.....

Seriously, what are you looking for? It's high as F to fly out there (relatively speaking)

Seaplane is ripoff, how much by boat from Venice, Gulfport or Biloxi I guess?

Your cheapest bet is to get a friend with a boat and tell him you'll split gas and buy the beer.

If that can't happen, hire a charter captain to get you out there.

Probably better to go out of Venice to Breton Island. I wonder how much to get dropped off and picked up to Breton from Venice?

Hell, you buy the beer/food and split gas, I'd take you.

We went out a few years ago out of Biloxi, believe it was the Dixie Queen or something like that. Great food, very comfortable boat, really cool to get out there.

That said, the wind blew like hell the entire 4 days. We had 10 guys and caught MAYBE 14 trout and two reds the whole trip. We had a Captain and a deckhand, but I really would point out that they were not "Guides". They'd just kinda point from the boat and say "try over there"...but without having a point of reference out there, it was kinda tough.

As for camping, I never really saw one area that looked all that conducive to camping. Lots of sharp shell shoal type stretches. You'd want to sleep on a boat.

I fished out there 2 weeks ago and at Freemason and sharks were everywhere ..... Clear water and sharks... Camping would be great out there weather permitting....

I thought you couldn't camp out on the islands anymore...only on some type of boat.

Fished there many times and yes, surf fishing, sharks swim right thru your legs all the time.

Camped many times were the lighthouse was. Fun dunking times at that.
