What’s the scoop on this? I’ve seen people in the past loading da cooler with blue cats. It’s a year round thing? When’s the time to go? I want to bring the kids since it is close to the house and would be easier fishin for them.

Blue cats are good to eat. I do prefer colder water river blues.
If I'm fishing for blues, I like CJ's or Danny King punch bait. Secret 7 and Sudden Impact by Team Catfush are good baits but are more expensive.

Wait till the shrimp plant is running and just look for all the boats.

Teach the boy to drive the boat (and truck), throw some jugs out in that bitch, and pound beers like a real Ville Plattion!

I planned on doing that too

There wasn’t much going on the last 10 days or so, but I’ll pass by that way on the way to work tomorrow. I’ll give an update if I can.
But you can set jugs all the way to the Avery Canal and the ICW. It’s only a 15-20 minute ride from the launch.

Ive set jugs in the ICW here around LC with very little luck. One or two cats here and there, but never a meat haul. Ive used cut bait, crawfish, catfish bait from Academy, and chicken gizzards. I just aint got it yet, i guess. Hopefully this year ill have more luck.

Thanks. I might go make a pass after while. I need to grab a couple things from Touchard’s anyway.

I haven’t tried setting any East of intracoastal city, but west of there with cut bait is pretty solid.

All I know is, if y’all are planning a beer drinking, cat fishing meat haul, y’all better call ya boy PuV.

I used to do this with my pawpaw, it was awesome. Just throw some dead shrimp out there and catch almost every cast.

Any of y'all ever jug fish or catch crabs in 4 mile cut? I haven't been there in years. I've jug fished and put drop nets in freshwater bayou more recently and done well in there - just a longer boat ride.
