Depends on what you are going to do with them. If your gonna make some tomato sauce then I believe Roma tomatos are better. Last year was my first year canning and I planted the patio tomato. Did not produce much but I had them in pots (gonna do a garden this year). I made sauce and canned it just made some chili with it last weekend and it was excellent!!

I use good tomatoes in a lot of dishes. The key word is "good" though. I hate those hot house tomatoes that you buy at the store. I plan on putting out 30 or so plants this spring, so I plan on having a ton of them.

Like I said before I planted mine in pots along with some peppers. This year I am doing a garden and gonna do alot of canning hopefully. Nothing like fresh grown tomatos in the winter time. My peppers did not turn out to hot they were mushy so I have to make some adjustments this year. Also planning on doing some pickles.

Peppers freeze really well. I chop my bell peppers and freeze them in ziplocs. When I want to add some to what I'm cooking, I just break off what I want and throw it in the pot. I also chop my jalapenos and freeze them in ice trays. 1 cube = 1 pepper.
