Look for the Still 56 line. About $250. Similar to their weedeater but with a vertical blade. BTW, blades are $2.50.

Echo or Stihl

Anything else and you'll throw it away in a year.

I just got a poulan edger attachment, from Walmart.com, to my Husqvarna weed eater. Does a great job for my needs. Less than $70.

Edit: also this is my third year using it. Other than replacing the blade once per year; it has been a champ.

I have an echo weed eater and it's been flawless.

Do y'all recommend the handheld kind or the push kind?

Teach yourself how to do it with your weedeater and you won't need to buy one.

The walk-behind ones are for creating an edge. You're looking for a stick edger

I got an electric Black & Decker edger from Home Depot and it has been great. I also bought an Echo string trimmer and it is good, too. The only complaint is that it needs a fair amount of gas in its tank to work but that’s minor.

I use the edger first then clean up any stragglers with the string trimmer, trim other areas like up against the house, and then mow. Looks great.

This. Stand on the grass side when you do it and it gives a cleaner look.
