Can one of you experienced speckle belly slayers recommend a call?

Thanks in advance. I know nothing about speck calling so help a fellow outdoorsman out.

Riceland
Their new 1/2" is easiest to blow but I blow an original 5/8

How difficult is it to learn the original 5/8"? I can blow a duck call okay, just never called at a goose.

Chien caille, but be ready to put some air thru it

It's not very hard. I tried learning on a lot of other calls and the riceland came very easy to me

Awesome. Thanks and Merry Christmas!

Thanks all for the responses. I have another question since y'all are the goose experts here: will specks come in to just calling over duck decoys without any speck decoys? Or do you pretty much need to be in a rice field with a goose spread?

I've never had much success over water. Speck decoys not necessary if you're in the right spot and/or willing to shoot at 50 yards. I like em in my face

Sean Mann calls are all good. I have his snow call and it is pretty user friendly.

Where y’all got specks at coco?

Riceland out of Lake Charles, try their 1/2”. It’s easier to manipulate and doesn’t take as much air, especially since you’re just starting. Wood will sound better than acrylic FYI

Nowhere right now. This is for future use.

I don’t speck call, but everyone I’ve been with seems to love Riceland. Also, I got a sweet Riceland hoodie for Christmas.

If you know how to create a bit of back pressure, it helps

You need speck decoys..they muat be taken in daily and reset onhunting days....all basically facing the wind and should be set 20+ yds directly up wind.....if they work, their final approach will be against the wind causing them to pass over..
You HAVE to be very very well covered...if in a ground blind...the best cover is something that says flat across the blind with no holes...
Many other nuances, but that is the basics...calling is also a learned technique....when to yell, when to answer, when to STFU..Etc
Good luck

I just got a new one for Christmas. I suck at calling specks but it’s a dream to use
