Camo dipping a shotgun with rubber grips
Posted by TrueBaldPate on 1/13/20 at 4:31 pm01
Beretta has rubber inserts on forearm and stock. Can these be dipped like with hydrographic film?
My gun is beat up the factory Camo pattern is very faded

There’s a local guy I follow on FB here that tapes off any rubber when dipping. May be a personal thing but I’ve watched several dozen of his videos and he never dips the rubber.

It wont stick to rubber or should I say when the rubber flex’s the coating begins to break. Which leads to the finish peeling.

Thanks for the response. I have emailed two places asking and got no response.
Will keep the gun as is or do a home paint job.

What I have done in the past and it worked pretty well is remove the rubber inserts. They are normally just glued on. If you take a heat gun and a plastic putty knife you can work it off without damaging the rubber. Once removed clean the remaining adhesive off the gun. Dip it then grab some emblem glue from a auto parts store and glue the rubber back on. Remember to lightly scuff up the area where it will be glued with fine grit sand paper
