Budget saltwater fishing rig advice?

Waiting on a renovation to complete that's been slowed down significantly by covid, so spending a month or so down on the Georgia coast (SSI/Jekyll) with family.
While I'm here, would love to get out and fish a bit. Just looking for recommendations on a decent budget setup that I can fish while I'm here.
Won't have a boat, so either pier/bridge or surf fishing will be most likely options. Appreciate any advice. Thanks!

I’d just buy some cheap combo if you’re not going to use it again.

Marine general was doing Fenwick hmg and pfleuger president for $99 plus shipping. The reels are size 2500 but it works for me.

Any cheap 7ft-ish medium to medium heavy spinning combo will work fine. If you want to be able to sling heavier weight farther into the surf go longer on the rod, but after 8ft or so they get obnoxious to haul around.
What you pay for in a spinning combo is smooth drag, longevity, and weight. If you’re not using light line then a smooth drag isn’t much of a concern, if you don’t want to use it longer than a month then just hosing the salt off it will keep it working that long, and weight won’t be a big deal as long as you aren’t constantly holding it to fish.
