Never use less than 65 # braid on a bait caster. It’s the diameter that causes the issues. It’s equal to 12# mono. Never less than 65

What are you guys doing with 10lb braid on a baitcaster? I’m scratching my head here.
I never said I use 10 lb. I said pp.
I use 30# on my baitcasters

I have a couple of finesse bait casters that only hold 50 yards of 4 pound mono. I can get almost 80 yards of 10 pound braid and it even casts a little better tha the 4 pound mono. I liked the way the 10 pound braid casted so much on those that I switched most of my reels to it.

Way too light. What lures are you throwing?

Mostly 1/16 - 1/4 oz jig heads with some sort of soft plastic. Sometimes swim baits up to about 1 oz.

I tried 15lb braid and it caused too many backlashes. It was especially awful in the wind.

I use a 40pound braid on my Pfleugger with a 12lbs mono leader, about 6 foot long. I did used about 20 yards of mono on the spool and like someone else said, tie a unit knot there. Never backlash really
