Bowie's Big Buck Contest?

I was in Bowie's this afternoon. When I walked out of the door a guy had a monster buck on a trailer backed up to the store. Is there a big buck contest going on? I noticed the tag was from Rapides Parish and his wife/sister/daughter whatever said that's where their camp was.
How long can you leave an animal carcass without ice? Seemed like the meat would spoil by the time he loaded it up and drove to BR. I've never killed a monster to drive around, always cleaned em and put straight to ice.

Yep. They have that there every year. It's pretty cool to see what people turn in up there. Go to their website and check them out. Though I think they mess the scores up sometimes, or mislabel them. That store is the tits too. The guy that runs the bow section is as legit as it comes also.
I always have mine cleaned ASAP as well, but a 2 hour drive from Alexandria and then back with a deer in this weather is fine. As long as they're gutted lol.

Yeah always been my favorite store, staff is always the bomb. Have a real good friend who started working there a few months ago. Kinda cool to see all the new things they get.

As cool as it was today gut them and they would be fine for a few hours.
