With the exception of the Reezen, which I hated, Mathews bows set to 70lbs feel like most of their competitors bows set on 62-63 pounds.

This is absolutely true. I can attest to this as well.

If you'll look back I agreed that they're all good these days. To say they wouldn't sell a bow I find completely laughable. Do you not have a favorite gun maker? Same damn thing. People get use to reliability and performance and stuck with what works.

I've got a High Country ICON right now. It'll whack em and stack em. But, it's heavy as crap and loud. I want a newer, faster, lighter, shorter bow. Just got to find what I like I guess. I am scheduled for shoulder surgery in November and will be working my butt off to get ready for next season. Going to go on tax free weekend next year and get everything.

Thanks again for all the info, it get's me in the general direction I need to be in.

That's what I meant by fan-boy. I guess it wasn't the right term. If everybody approached buying a bow with absolutely no pre-formed opinion, they wouldn't buy a mathews. There just isn't that much noticeable difference between them and bows that cost much less.

I'm sure that if you hooked them up to a vibration machine or something you would be able to tell some differences. I have no doubt they have smoother draws and less shock, my hands just can't feel it.

What, do you have feeling in your arms? Last time I shot a diff bow other than a Mathews it almost jumped out of my hand because I was holding it the same as I do mine. An open grip.
Haven't shot anything other than a Mathews since last year.

You'll probably be snoozing in next few minutes anyway.

You can shoot any modern bow with an open grip. That's how I shoot everything.

By all means buy one if you can afford it. I'll just never own one unless they make their prices competitive with what else is on the market. For a 2012 bow you cannot beat a bear IMO.

This is the $650 2013 "Method." It's basically the same as the Motive line sans roller guard and adjustable string suppressors. Still has an IBO of 340 and ATA of 33".

Bear Method

I wouldn't be surprised to see this bow get some "best buy" awards next year.
