Next weekend will be my first time bow-fishing. I'm going with a group of competitive guys. Does anyone have any tips that will help me slay some Reds?

and be damn sure it's of legal size before letting an arrow fly

I've had nights where I've hit everything I've shot at and other nights where I couldn't hit anything. Aim under the fish. Don't be scared to let a long shot fly if the target is behind the boat and you are the last guy, but in other situations were the fish isn't within 10 yards or so hold off and let your guide get you closer or let people who are closer take the shot. Don't think too long about a shot you are going to take.

Good luck - I hope the water is clear, shallow and the red's are sticking halfway out the water for you.

Learn to aim with the arrow, and find a comfortable point on your cheek or side of your face to draw to. Consistently going to the same point will help you with your draw speed and accuracy.

if your fiancée falls into the water, avoid diving off the back of the boat

Seeing the fish is half the battle, not as easy as you’d think.

Good luck and aim low, real low

Good time to go. Sheephead should be spawning, fill the boat.

Best advice I have is to aim so low on the fish that you miss underneath it. Its easier to bring your shot up as opposed to shooting lower as crazy as that may sound.
