Looking for some lightweight fishing pants for this summer. Anyone have experience with Simms pants? What’s the ob go to? I’m willing to pay for comfort.

I have some Simms pants. I wear them for fishing and hiking. No complaints but probably wouldn’t pay full price. I got them on sale.

FreeFly is your answer then. If you find something more comfortable, please let me know.

I've been wearing Kuhl kontra air pants while kayak fishing lately and really like them. Lightweight and vented so definitely feel cooler than other Kuhl pants I've worn. Usually around $80, but can be found cheaper at places like steep&cheap.

I have 4 pairs of North face paramount convertible pants. They’re durable, quick drying, and when it starts getting hot in the afternoon you can unzip the legs and then you’re wearing shorts. The older version even had a nut sack / taint vent system right in the crotch for air flow to prevent da swamp arse. Not sure if the newer ones have this gift from God. Retail for 60-80 bucks I think.

I haven't tried Free Fly myself yet I'm sure that is now going to cost me some money...

However I wear Prana working in the summer and I would think they would be excellent fishing pants as well.

I love freefly. Pants are a bit tight about the quads but I’ve got a big butt. They are stretchy though so still comfy. Most importantly they are dry about 5 minutes after getting out of water from surf fishing.

Don’t buy AFTCO, I’ve heard their apparel can kill you

Columbia swim suit/ pants with the mesh in them. No underwear. That’s my go to and they last several years.

Just bought some afco pants. They heavy but very well built.
